About

Originating in 1997, the first weekend in December (Thurs-Sat) has been the time set aside by the local members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to come together and create a breathtaking, peaceful, serene, indoor creche display. It has grown from a few dozen nativities to over 400 from around the world and community. The Friday evening always offers a Christmas musical program featuring sacred Christmas music from church members and occasionally,  community members. Other additions over the years include quiet children's activities, a variety of character period clothing and a stable scene for photo opportunities, video clips regaling the Savior's birth and life on earth, and a subtle annual theme surrounding the decor of the event.

Everyone is welcome and The Creche Display is an all-age appropriate event.

"I have heard of many nativity displays all over North America!  Some are in their infancy with 50 displays and one group of volunteers that have a passion to share the spirit of Christmas.  I have heard of some that have over 3000!  Yes 3000! 15 different denominations involved.  This is my hope and dream for our yearly display.  We have just over 300 and growing.  My dream is for community members and other churches to bring their pictures of Christ and their nativities to put on display.  I want people to record and share the stories of the nativites.  I have heard soo many.  Some make me laugh and others are deeply moving.  I hope that we can all put aside our differences and preconceived ideas and share in the spirit of Christmas as we come together to create an amazing start to the Christmas season."
